About The Leaders:

Our leaders are a multi-talented bunch who love Jesus and boats (in that order) and want nothing more than for you to have a fabulous week on the canals getting to know Him better! We hope you'll help us keep the boats shipshape and running smoothly, because getting involved is all part of the fun.

Accommodation Type:

Canal boats have proper bunk beds, although they're a bit narrower than usual, like the boats. They also have really good showers, almost normal toilets, proper kitchens and everything else you need for an action packed week of cruising. You'll share a cabin with up to 3 friends, and there will usually be 4 leaders on the boat too, but not in the same cabin, so they shouldn't cramp your style too much. There's not too much spare space on a boat, so they're great for getting to know everyone, but there's always a quiet corner if you want to chill out by yourself for a bit.

Activities and Programme:

This year we'll be getting all sporty and finding out what it means to be a part of God's team. There will be cruising, great food, bible study, tunnels, chatting, music, locks, craft, sport, worship, steering the boat, crazy games, and prayer - and most of that's just on the first day! But fear not, Canal Cruise can be as action packed or chilled out as you want it to be.

About Site and Area:

The great thing about a cruise is that the view out your bedroom window is different every morning, but it's almost always the beautiful English countryside. We start and finish at a village called Braunston, in the Midlands. It's right in the middle of the canal network so we get a great choice of routes. This year we're cruising south on the Grand Union Canal to Milton Keynes, through Braunston and Blisworth tunnels, up and down loads of locks, and past plenty of fields for you to demonstrate your sporting prowess or just enjoy the space. Be prepared for anything, including from the weather. It's entirely possible to need waterproofs and sun hats on the same day!
